Erdogan to arrive with 150 businessmen – Turkish leader in official visit to Serbia in late September
The arrival of the head of the Turkish state might mark the beginning of a new era of economic cooperation between Belgrade and Ankara, as the delegation headed by Erdogan will be accompanies by around 150 businessmen form various areas, who will arrive to Serbia by two planes.
Erdogan will most probably spend more than one day in Serbia, and the most important regional political and economic topics should be discussed between the presidents of Serbia and Turkey on that occasion. Also, potential misunderstandings between Belgrade and Ankara that have arisen lately should be resolved.
Concrete business agreements in the fields of textile industry and privatization of Serbia spas, in which investors from Turkey are especially interested, might also be finalized during Erdogan's visit. There will also be talk about the construction of the Turkish Stream pipeline, one of whose branches should go through Serbia.
According to the information Novosti has, the agenda of the visit was considered this Monday at the meeting between President Aleksandar Vucic and Hakan Fidan, Undersecretary of the National Intelligence Organization of Turkey (MIT). This Ankara official is known as one of Erdogan's closest associates, and many consider him the the second most important man of the Turkish state.
