In order to increase the tourist turnover in Nis and Niska Banja and create conditions for new investments in Lozni Kalem, the City of Nis will build a traffic route and a sidewalk in this location. The construction of an aqua park and a facility of the Filipino company IMI is expected there, and the city authorities plan to turn that part of Nis into a location for tourism, business and recreation.

The construction of a traffic route and a sidewalk in the attractive location of Lozni Kalem, at the entrance to Niska Banka, is co-financed by the City and the Ministry of Economy with around RSD 178 million, says Milan Randjelovic of the Local Economic Development Office.

Of this amount, RSD 104 million will be set aside from the city budget. If everything goes according to plan, a public invitation will soon be placed, he adds, and the job should be completed by the end of the year.

– I'm not only talking about the section related to IMI and the part around the aquapark, but the entire area of 30 hectares, which will be completely infrastructurally equipped once the project is completed, fully changing the appearance and the competitiveness of the location – Randjelovic adds.

Half of those 30 hectares should be taken up by the aquapark and IMI. The remaining area will be available for new investments, he adds.

– A big complex, around seven hectares, is meant for tourism, recreation and business features – hotels, apartments, office space, health centers. Two smaller units of two hectares each have been set aside for the same purpose, and there's another parcel of around 4 ha, whose designated purpose is business, production and commerce. It is located between IMI and the railroad – Randjelovic explains.

Let us remind that the construction of an aquapark is planned in Lozni Kalem. It should have both an outdoor and an indoor part and all the accompanying features. The Filipino company IMI has recently obtained the building permit for the construction of its facilities in the said location. These facilities should be completed by July 2018.
