Use of plastic bags forbidden in L.A.
Los Angelos City Council has forbidden use of plastic bags in stores, and the regulation will be on power from July, 1st, 2010.
In the largest California city, customers could use their own bags or could pay 25 cents for a special ecological bag. The Council proclaimed that this regulation would bring down to the minimum expenses for city's maintenance, as well as for the rivers in Los Angelos. More than 2 billion plastic bags is used per year in this city, it was announced.
Last year, San Francisco was the first city in United States to proclaim this regulation.
