IKEA gets exploitation permit for Belgrade department store

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia issued the exploitation permit for the IKEA Belgrade department store on July 25, 2017.

The permit pertains to the regulation of the Zavojnicka river and the Gledjevacki stream, the location on which IKEA's new department store has already been built, whereby the conditions have met for opening the first store from this chain in Serbia, the ministry announced.

By acquiring the exploitation permit, the IKEA department store at Bubanj Potok received the final document necessary in line with the Law on Planning and Construction.

IKEA is a Swedish furniture and home accessory producer, and the investment in Serbia is worth around EUR 70 million.

The construction of the first IKEA department store in Serbia began in April 2016, and the opening has been announced for August 10, 2017.
