Austrian PBH investing EUR 15 million in Beocin – Opening of biomass power plant in 2018
A part of the works will be completed in late 2017, and the production can be expected to begin in early 2018.
Mayor of Beocin Mitar Milinkovic and the manager of PBH, Johan Prior, signed an agreement on the investment in the new industrial zone, that is, on the construction of a facility for the production of electricity up to 1 MW and heating of 1.4 to 1.7 MW.
The energy, which is to be produced from wood waste, would supply big fruit and vegetable cooling and drying plants. Active coal would be the byproduct of the power plant's operations, and the air-conditioning of big facilities for the production and processing of oyster mushrooms is also planned.
Prior said that the Municipality of Beocin provided the best conditions, which decided the choice, and he especially pointed out the developed infrastructure.
Milinkovic pointed out the multiple benefits of the investment, considering that there had not been big investments in the municipality for a number of years, the municipality website says.
