Moving 600 households from Vreoci inevitable, otherwise - energy crisis in Serbia in several years

Around 53% of households from Vreoci would have to be moved to another address and so "open the road" for broadening Kolubara mines. That is the result of the first, unofficial, results of the polls conducted by the Institute for Urbanism and Architecture of Serbia which, according to the contract with "Kolubara", prepares the study of moving this local community. This report represents the basis for making the idea project with the justification study which is where "Kolubara Projekt" is engaged. EPS will be able to bring the final decision on possible moving by mid-October. Without moving Vreoci, Serbia would face the coal deficit in as little as several years' time. Rather, the coal deficit due to the untimely disappropriation not only on the location of Vreoci, could present a serious threat between 2011 and 2016, even if a new power plant is not built in Serbia. With the new thermo-plant, let's say in Obrenovac, 32 million tons of coal from Kolubara would be needed, and without it 27 million tons of coal. There lies 450 million tons of coal under Vreoci - the reserve enough in itself for bridging this problematic five-year period and for the planned production of coal in "Tamnava - Zapadno polje" and the future one in "Polje E" to provide enough energy resources for the production of electric energy in the next 35 to 40 years.
