The Turks are showing interest in investing in Vojvodina as well. According to Minister of Trade Rasim Ljajic, a Turkish investor is looking for an adequate space of 15 to 20 thousand square meters close to the Hungarian border, where it might open a textile facility.

He has invited the local self-governments which can provide adequate space to inform the ministry of it so that it could decide, together with the investor, whether the location is suitable.

Ljajic also says that this is one of the first investors from Turkey to show interest in investing in one of the Serbian towns close to the Hungarian border.

– The majority of investors from Turkey that have come here so far were interested in investing in municipalities in southern Serbia, close to the highway, such as Nis and Leskovac – Ljajic added.
