Serbia to start issuing long-term securities for budget financing in September
Minister of Finance, Diana Dragutinović, has announced that the state will start issuing about 5 billion RSD worth of long-term securities for budget financing in September 2008.
These securities will be nominated exclusively in RSD and both physical and juristic persons will be able to buy them. Their role will be to take over the Dinar liquidity surplus and stimulate development of local securities market - said Ms Dragutinović.
Since the privatization incomes in the first half of year 2008 were very small - about 800m EUR, it may happen that deficit occurs in the budget in autumn. Ms Dragutinović said that she, as the Minister of Finance, would not like for the economy sector to have debts on foreign capital market. Most Important News
