Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic talked to his Bulgarian colleague Nikolina Angelkova about enhancing the tourism cooperation between the two countries, the minister's cabinet reported.

It was agreed for the new agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism to be signed in October 2017 at the latest. The agreement is to, among other things, define joint ventures in third markets and unified tourism products of the two countries.

Ljajic and Angelkova said that a unified tourism offer provided more opportunities for attracting tourists from far-off destinations, especially from China, Japan, South Korea and Iran, and that a joint presentation of the tourism organizations of Serbia and Bulgaria would be organized for that purpose at the leading exhibits in the field.

Furthermore, cooperation in mutual promotion of the tourism offer was also agreed, and the days of Bulgarian tourism will therefore be organized in early autumn in Belgrade, to be followed immediately by the days of Serbian tourism in Sofia.

The ministers also discussed cross-border programs financed from the EU funds and agreed that Serbia and Bulgaria should apply with joint projects for the development of tourism potentials on the Danube.
