Starting this autumn, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade will have an additional 500 m2 of classroom space in the Lola Holding building in the Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard, and the new capacities mean that an additional 60 students may enroll in the Software Engineering course.

– The new 60 self-financed students will be able to enroll thanks to the new space granted to us by the Government's decision – Dean Zoran Jovanovic confirms for eKapija.

This year, therefore, a total of 180 students will enroll in the Software Engineering course at the faculty, of which 30 will have their studies financed by the state.

The new space, as the dean says, will be available to freshmen as soon as this autumn.

– We will discuss potential funds for renovation with the ministry, but the faculty will certainly adapt the space so that the classes could start with the beginning of the new school year.

High school graduates have been increasingly more interested in studying at the Faculty of Electric Engineering in the past years, which the state also insists on, as there's a great demand for IT experts in the market, and the lack of spatial capacity has been cited for years by the faculty as one of the key reasons for the inability to have more students enroll.

This year's entrance exam took place on June 26. There are 1150 candidates, whereas slightly above 700 will be admitted – 400 students financed by the state and 132 self-financed students to the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department and 150 self-financed students and 30 students financed by the state to the Software Engineering department.
