Due to specific excise increase for dinar and a half, as of July 1, cigarette producers will increase pack prices for 10 dinars, Blic reports.

This is a result of the new excise plan adopted early this year i.e. adopted amendments to the Law on Excise, according to which by 2020, this fee will be increased every six months so now, instead of RSD 64 per pack it will total RSD 65.5.The same as previous times, manufacturers will not adjust price for only excise increase but will do an additional RSD 8.5 per pack and they find their reasons in significant differences in reduced profits, Blic writes.- By the end of 2020, we need to reach EU standards, which stipulate that the amount of minimum excise is EUR 90 per 1,000 cigarettes, while in Serbia at the moment it is app. EUR 50 euros, a collocutor from Nemanjina 11 said. He said it is essential to know that in Serbia, specific and progressive excise is paid for cigarettes and that progressive will not change and remains 33%.
