The automobile giant Fiat Chrysler is satisfied with its cooperation with the Government of Serbia, the result of which is the most successful Serbian exporting product – Fiat 500L, says Silvia Vernetti, Director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia.
– We are proud of the fact that FCA Serbia is participating with 3% in the gross domestic product. We make up 8% of the total exports, which amounted to EUR 1.1 billion in 2016 – Vernetti pointed out for Vecernje Novosti.
When asked how satisfied she was with the operations of the Fiat factory in Kragujevac, she reminded that the joint project had started nine years before with the construction of the factory in the town.
– Five years ago, the production of Fiat 500L started, the most sold vehicle in its segment in Europe and the most sold vehicle in Serbia. We are proud that such a good product is being made in Kragujevac and grateful to the workers, above all, for their dedication – she emphasized.
Talking about the
new Fiat 500L model, Vernetti said that the new car had over 40% of entirely new components.
– It has been improved considerably, not just in terms of design, but in terms of driving and safety characteristics as well. I expect it to repeat the success of its predecessor – Verneti said for Vecernje Novosti.
When asked whether the export to the market of the USA was planned, considering that the sale started in France, Italy and Serbia on June 17 and 18, and in September in other countries of Europe, Vernetti said “of course” and pointed out that the plan was to have the vehicle sold in all the countries Fiat exported to anyway, Vecernje Novosti reports.
She couldn't specify, however, as to what the prices would be in Serbia.
