The last of of the 110 girders of the Dzemin Do bridge, one of the longest bridges on the southern branch of Corridor 10, at Vladicin Han, has been installed, thereby linking the bridge.

Deputy head of the South project at the Corridors of Serbia, Darko Subarevic, said that the Dzemin Do bridge, 495 meters long, was one of 33 bridges on the 26-km section of Corridor 10 in the Grdelica Gorge.

The bridge is located on the Manajle tunnel-Vladicin Han section, 6.1 kilometers long.

– The Corridors of Serbia, in cooperation with the contractor on the Dzemin Do bridge, one of the impressive bridges through the Grdelica Gorge, are installing the final of the 110 girders. Each one is 45 meters long and their total length amounts to around 4,840 meters. A total of 3,880 tons of reinforcement and 24,700 cubic meters of concrete is contained within it, which shows what a great endeavor this has been for the Corridors of Serbia and the contractor – he emphasized.

According to him, the height of the girder is 2.2 meters, whereas columns are 62 meters tall, which has required the usage of highly precise mounting technology, the so-called grid launching.

– The grid has done its job here and is being moved to the Vrla bridge, the longest bridge on this section, with 645 meters – Subarevic said.

As he added, the Corridors of Serbia are stepping up the construction of these two bridges, the longest bridges of the southern branch of Corridor 10.

When it comes to the Vrla bridge, Subarevic explained, the columns are 62 meters tall and require mounting by grid launching. He adds that the bridge has a total of 140 girders, each one 45 meters long, bringing the total length up to 6,160 meters.

Furthermore, the height of the girder is 2.2 meters, whereas its weight is 87 tons, making the total weight amount to over 12,200 tons.
