There have been many arguments concerning the news that the isle of Jakljan near Dubrovnik is being sold by the Agency for property issues of the Republic of Serbia instead of the state of Croatia. However, the word goes about the sales of a resort on the isle, as well as the accompanying land, and not the whole isle, since the isle occupies the total of 3,45 square kilometers, and the price of the resort is 3,46 million euros. It is anticipated that the opening of offers should be in August 12th, 2005.

The advertisement states that the right of use of the goods belongs to the Belgrade Center of Children Resorts, and that Serbia does not possess these real estates. In the Agency they say that the property has been booked as the property of the Republic of Serbia by the decree brought by the Republic of Croatia and the re-booking of property.

The isle of Jakljan belongs to the Elafitski archipelago and has not been formally populated. During the sixties of the last century, two big objects were built there as well as around twenty bungalows, which served as children resorts. During the war, the isle was used by the Dubrovnik flotilla, and the real estate was run by the Croatian fund for Privatization, which rented the objects for free to the association of International God-Fatherhood to child from Herzeg Bosnia from Siroki Brijeg on a ten years' base, run by father Zovko. He built a church on the isle and demanded that the isle be given them for good. However, it did not happen. The ten years' lease expired just recently.

(Novosti 31.07.2005.) We will compose a list of real estate owned by the Republic of Serbia by the end of August and at the common competition we will offer them to the market - said Nebojsa Negic, consultant of the director of the Republic Agency for Property of the Republic of Serbia for the papers "Slobodna Dalmacija". The Republic of Serbia will sell its property, its resorts on Jelsa, Hvar, Rogoznica, Makarska, Omis, Bol, Brac and Rab.

(Glas Javnosti 31.07.2005.) The Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations announced that the legal entities from Serbia and Montenegro have no right to dispose of real estate in Croatia where they have the right of use. The Croatian Ministry of Internal Affairs warned that the Law on prohibition of disposing of and taking over the assets of certain legal entities on the territory of Croatia, prevents the legal entities from S&M to dispose of real estate in Croatia. Those issues will be dealt with in accordance with the principles from the Annex G of the Agreement on the issues of succession, bilaterally between Croatia and S&M.
