Facebook will start broadcasting its TV series in mid-June.
Business Insider reports that Facebook has greenlighted the beginning of the production of several TV series.
Facebook is allegedly preparing two tiers of shows: longer, high-budget shows, similar to conventional TV series, and 5-10 minute shows which can be added through an app daily.
If the company opts for original content, it will be able to provide competition to YouTube, Netflix and the Amazon video service.
The apparent message is that Facebook wants to keep its two billion users, especially younger ones, who are increasingly switching to Snapchat.
