PC sales in Serbia grew by 78% - 100,215 computers delivered in first quarter of year 2008

- In the first quarter of year 2008, total of 100,215 personal computers were delivered in the market of Serbia, which is 78% more than in the same quarter last year - research company "IDC Adriatics" announced.

Exceptional growth was registered in sales of portable computers - 97%. However, the largest sales were registered by desktop computers - 68,453 pieces and growth by 72%. Also, 30, 268 laptops and 1,494 servers were sold.

Desktop computers make 68% of total PC market in Serbia, portable computers - 30%, while x86 servers represent 2% of the market.

Cooperation with wholesale markets, such as "Maxi", "Metro", "Tempo" and "Megastore", contributed to successful sales of desktop computers. Increased demand for portable computers was realized thanks to lower prices and performances that are at the level of desktop computers.

"ComTrade" is the leader in number of delivered PCs, the second is HP, while the third is "Fujitsu Siemens".
