The Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport will reach the record number of 5.5 million passengers this year, making 2017 a record-breaking year in all operating parameters, announced acting director Sasa Vlaisavljevic.

– We are marking 55 years and have set very high goals. The management’s goal for this year is 5.5 million passengers – Vlaisavljevic said at the opening of the exhibition “A Story in 55 Pictures”, an introduction to the celebration of the airport’s 55 years of operation.

For the first time, archival photographs of prominent persons from the country and abroad, who have visited the Belgrade Airport from 1962, were shown.

Vlaisavljevic also said that the growth of the total air traffic at the Nikola Tesla Airport had influenced the growth of operating income, which increased in 2016 by 5% compared to the previous year, with net profit amounting to RSD 3.19 billion.

– In 2016, we welcomed a total of 4.92 million passengers, which is three percent more than in the previous year, whereas the goods and mail turnover increased by 10% – Vlaisavljevic said for Tanjug.
