Venezuelan Days at Belgrade Youth Center on April 11-13

The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Belgrade Youth Center, is organizing a three day even called Venezuelan Days at BYC`s Amerikana hall on April 11-13.

Visitors will be able to view the exhibit “In Chavez` Footsteps”, documenting the meeting of the charismatic and unique former president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez with great statesmen from all over the world, as well as The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, a documentary about the coup attempt in Caracas of April 11, 2002.

Following the screening, a discussion will be held, during which the audience will be able to ask questions to the head of the mission of the Embassy of Venezuela in Belgrade, Dr Dia Nader de el Andari, and her collocutors – Dr Aleksandar Lukic, a philosopher, author and editor of the science and philosophy show Gozba on Radio Belgrade 2, and Ratko Krsmanovic, president of the Serbian branch of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements for Defense of Humanity.

On the second day of the event, two Venezuelan films will be show - Coup at Daybreak, dealing with an attempt at a military coup against the then president Carlos Andres Perez of February 4, 1992, followed by the awarded Venezuelan horror film The House at the End of Time.

One of the best contemporary achievements of the Venezuelan cinematography, Blue and Not So Pink, winner of the Goya Award for Best Spanish Language Foreign Film, will be shown on the closing day.
