The director of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, Miodrag Popovic, said on Sunday, April 2, that the abolition of visas for tourists from China had contributed to an increase in the number of visitors from the country. As he said for RTS, Belgrade is preparing to host 30,000 to 50,000 new guests.

Popovic pointed out that a considerable increase in the number of Chinese tourists had been recorded in 2016 as well and said that totems featuring information in the Chinese language had been installed in Belgrade, considerably facilitating orientation for Chinese tourists.

– The number of interactive totems the Chinese are already used to is considerable as well – Popovic emphasizes.

He believes that the key thing is to give form to the tourist offer of Belgrade and the region, as Chinese tourists arriving to stay for several days won’t just stay in the capital of Serbia.

Popovic also pointed out that over a hundred million tourists from China visited Europe each year, as well as that Belgrade was preparing for an increased number of tourists.
