The Belgrade Photo Month has started in the Parobrod cultural institution, and as many as 49 exhibits will open by the end of April.

The New Talents exhibit, which opened the event, presents the best works of photographers under 25. A total of 127 authors from 33 countries applied, the youngest of which is only seven years old.

The three best photo projects were selected, with the winner being Luka Trajkovic with his photo series called At the Foot of Eagle Hills, which uses immigrants’ everyday lives as a foundation for a universal story of human fate and suffering.

– The works of young artists are characterized by a different atmosphere and freedom in approaching photography. This is quite natural, as they are young and strive to be different. Some of them have already received awards in other festivals, whereas, for others, this is the first opportunity to have their works exhibited – says David Puzado, photographer and the festival’s director.

Renowned European photographers will exhibit their works in foreign cultural institutes, whereas the Yugoslav Film Archive will screen cult movies dealing with photography, and lectures and forums, guided tours and workshops will be organized daily.

The exhibit of Aleksandra Lekovic called Waiting will open at the RTS Gallery on April 20.
