Toll booth Vrcin to be completed in April 2017 – Road capacity on Belgrade-Nis highway to increase by 30%
Mihajlovic said today, during her tour of the construction site, that 23 lanes would be built, of which 12 featuring electronic toll collection.
– The contractors say that the works will be completed in April, and the final deadline is May 10 – Mihajlovic said and reminded that such modern toll booths are featured throughout the world.
The summer season jams will be reduced thanks to the new toll booth, she said and added that it was important for Belgrade that the toll booth had been moved out of the city.
The acting director of the Roads of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak, stated that the toll booth would be completed between April 15 and 20.
Drobnjak reminded that the tender for the contractor for removing the old Bubanj Potok toll booth had been opened and that the contractor was to be selected by May 1.
The construction of the toll booth Vrcin started in late March 2016, and the value of the investment is RSD 2 billion. The new toll booth will feature a total of 23 lanes, eight more than Bubanj Potok and will enable vehicles to pass that part of Corridor 10 more quickly.
