The Belgrade Land Development Public Agency and the Union of Architects of Serbia have opened an urban and architectural contest for a section of Makisko Polje in Cukarica on the right bank of the Sava, between the Belgrade-Ostruznica highway, the “Beograd – Ranzirna” railway station and the Milorada Jovanovica Street. The area in question amounts to a total of 680 hectares.
This important area in the city's middle zone is currently used mostly as agricultural land, despite being a remarkable investment and functional resource.
The contest aims to define the realistic developmental potential of the area, to define the zones in line with the morphological, planning, ambient and other characteristics, as well as to re-examine the area in order for the location to be developed into a new urban whole.
The chosen solutions will act as a basis for the formulation of the planning solution and the preparation of the urban planning documentation for the area in question. The submission deadline is June 30, 2017, at 3 pm. The results of the contest will be announced on July 28, and the total net prize fund amounts to RSD 2.688 million.
