Vienna Boys Choir listed at UNESCO List

The most famous children's choir in the world, the Vienna Boys (Wiener Sängerknaben), was listed at the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The choir currently has about 100 active members, and it was founded in 1498 when Emperor Maximilian I ordered the establishment of the choir to accompany church masses. They have collaborated with many composers like Mozart, Schubert and Bruckner. Today the Vienna boys have 300 concerts worldwide per year.

School campus of this renowned Viennese institutions, meanwhile, has been expanded and offers the option of visiting elementary school of that high school. This way, finally girls can access to this institution.



In addition to four boy's choirs, the institution now includes choir for singers aged 10 to 14, girls' choir, two primary school choir, and the Choir Juventus for high school students.
