Namics to employ 20 Java engineers in Belgrade – Jobs for 100 by late 2020
During the first phase of business development, Namics will expand its Hybris platform international team in its Belgrade office.
The agency announces that 20 Java engineers will be hired for international project purposes.
– After two years of operations in Serbia, our central in St. Gallen has decided that the Java team for working on the Hybris platform should receive reinforcement from the Belgrade office. Serbian engineers will thereby be provided with an opportunity to work in distributed teams with their German and Swiss colleagues on projects such as launching Medela's online shop or redesigning the global Victorinox e-shop – Catherine Ferrary Simon, Unit Manager at Namics Serbia, announced.
The decision to first reinforce the teams to work on the Hybris platform and enhance electronic business was reached following an analysis of global needs.
Ivan Dugalic, software architect at Namics Belgrade, explained how e-commerce needs influenced the work of software engineers on the Hybris platform.
– The amount of data we work with is enormous. We used to have databases which measured in gigabytes, whereas now they're measured in terabytes. Also, as the number of e-commerce users grows, so does the challenge to find good scaling solutions, enabling websites and apps to work without problem, even when a large number of users is trying to access them simultaneously. Last year's Black Friday, when a surprisingly large number of people unexpectedly engaged in online shopping, is a good example confirming how important it is for us to develop quick and reliable software solutions – Dugalic said.
He added that a small technology debt is among the biggest advantages for Java engineers working on the Hybris platform, which is also one of the reasons why its so interesting to engineers, the press release says.
