The City of Belgrade has opened a new public invitation for the company to prepare and distribute around 9.6 million meals for meal centers over a two-year period. The value of the job is RSD 1.53 billion (EUR 12.3 million).

Over 50 meal centers located in Belgrade, of which 10 mobile ones, require the service.

The criterion is the lowest price offered.

The application deadline is April 18, 2017, and the opening will take place on the same date at 9 am.

Let us remind that public procurement procedures related to meal centers have seen a lot of complaints, changing of the tender winners and annulments in the past years, at one point putting the regular supply in question. In February 2016, the job was awarded to Multicatering, which had offered the lowest price of a meal, but the company was rejected following complaints over their choice of ingredients. The official reason was the failure to disclose which type of oil was used in preparing the meals, as well as whether they contained meat with skin and bones, as those factors considerably impact the quality of the food and the price offered, according to the public procurement committee.

Well known companies such as Multicatering, Lido and Vojna Ustanova Dedinje, all of which have previously supplied meal centers, are expected to apply.
