Solar power station project presented in Vracar
Construction of a solar power station in Belgrade would save energy from other sources and would reduce air pollution, it was said during presentation of a testing project of the first solar power station in Serbia, in Vracar municipality.
Solar power station should be built on the roof of this Municipality’s administration building, occupying an area of 110 sqm and will produce 14.000 kilo vat – hours per year, which is over 1000 kilo vat – hours a month.
The project was made by professors and assistants of the Electro-technical faculty (ETF) in Belgrade, with the support of Vracar Municipality. 7 millions RSD was given for the project from NIP, and 16 mil RSD from the city budget.
According the words of ETF professor, Dusan Mikecic, solar energy has annual growth of 30%.
His faculty assistant, Dusan Nikolic, added that construction of the solar power station in Vracar is expected by September, and that it would improve protection of the living environment, opening new working places and improving maintenance of solar systems.
According to Nikolic, so far they did preliminary project design and detailed project design for the construction, and they are expecting soon to purchase all materials and equipment, after which solar power station would be ready for installation.
During presentation of the pilot project it was stated that Vracar Municipality, in cooperation with citizens will start with encouragement of setting up similar systems on the roofs of residential buildings.
