Prices of goods and services grew by 3.9% since beginning of year 2008
Inflation in Serbia in April amounted to 1.1%, while the increase in retail prices of goods and services in the first four months of this year reached 3.9%.
According to the data provided by the Republic Statistics Institute, the prices of goods in April were 1.2% larger than in March, while the prices of services went up by 0.6%.
The largest increase in prices in April was registered by agricultural products - 4.3%.
Prices of industrial-food products - flour, bread, pasta, dairy products, fresh meat and fat - in April were 3.4% higher than in March. Prices of drinks went up by 1%, while the prices of tobacco and industrial-non-food products remained at the same level, except for the decrease in prices of oil derivatives.
Living expenses in Serbia in April 2008 were 1.8% higher than in March, whereas the growth of living expenses since the beginning of the year amounted to 4.9%. The difference between the retail price index and the index of living expenses is the result of different influence of the growth of prices of certain articles on forming of these indices.
