The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure will be considering the proposition of Greece's Aktor for the completion of the works on the east branch of Corridor 10 until February 8, when it will be decided whether the arrangement will continue or whether the contract will be terminated for certain sections, stated Minister Zorana Mihajlovic.

Mihajlovic said that the president of Aktor, Dimitrios Koutras proposed a new dynamic plan for the completion of works on four sections totaling 48 km on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

– They asked for one section to be completed in early 2018, which we didn't agree with. We will examine each contract and decide whether to continue or terminate the arrangement. We have no reason to tolerate anything. The government has paid off everything it needed to – Mihajlovic said and added that the ministry had proposed to involve an additional company in order to complete the job if need be.

The minister said that the contracts had been signed a long time before and that the Corridors of Serbia had been running the project, as well as that there had been problems, which is why she had involved herself in solving them.

Mihajlovic said that the entirety of Corridor 10 should be completed by the end of 2017 and added that the Srpska Kuca-Levosoje section was the most difficult construction site in Europe at the moment.

Talking about reducing the time needed to travel between Serbia and Greece, the minister said that there was a problem of transport of goods with all surrounding countries taking too long and that it was intolerable for goods to be kept on the border for hours in this day and age.
