Turkey’s Ormo opening yarn factory in Lebane – Operations to start by late 2017, employment of 500 planned
– We agreed at the Government of Serbia for the experts hired by the government to prepare the project of renovating and adapting the factory facilities, and the local self-government is to prepare the necessary permits in the same period – Ilic points out.
The Government of Serbia earlier set aside RSD 16 million for the purchase of the long since closed factory, and it has been estimated that the renovation will require an additional RSD 130 million.
– Those are just estimates. It is certain that the government and the prime minister will keep their promise, but it’s also certain that each single dinar is carefully considered – Ilic emphasizes.
Following the projects and the permits, a tender for the contractor will open. In the meantime, numerous talks and agreements with the investor will take place.
– A factory can’t be opened in a week or a month. It’s a long an d complex process, and we are lucky that a serious investor and one of the biggest Turkish exports of yarn to Europe is coming to Lebane – says Ilic, who has recently visited two Orma factories with 2,000 workers.
This Turkish company plans to employ 350 workers in Lebane in the first cycle, and an additional 150 later on.
Exportext used to produce all kinds of yarns as well, in addition to textile.
