412 bankruptcy proceedings opened in 2016, 267 completed – Average duration of procedure more than two years
The largest number of procedures were opened at the Commercial Court of Belgrade – 147, followed by Kraljevo. The Commercial Court of Novi Sad initiated 33 bankruptcy proceedings, and the Commercial Court of Subotica initiated 32 procedures. A total of 14 bankruptcy proceedings were initiated at the Commercial Court of Zrenjanin, 13 in Pancevo, 12 in Sremska Mitrovica and 11 in Sombor.
From 2000 till 2016, a total of 6,267 bankruptcy proceedings were initiated in Serbia, with the largest number of procedures being initiated in 2011 – 1,321. The total average duration for the said 6,267 bankruptcy proceedings is two years and nine months. The average duration of the bankruptcy proceedings initiated in line with the Law on Bankruptcy Proceedings (a total of 4,705 since January 23, 2010) is two years, three months and five days.
