Ten years ago today, on January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs presented the first iPhone – a device which has caused a revolution in the world of mobile phones. Jobs described iPhone as a three-in-one device - a widescreen iPod with touch controls, a revolutionary mobile phone and a breakthrough internet communications device.

iPhone has since been presented in several different versions, but Steve Jobs' design remains.

At the time, the concept seemed almost too ambitious. It meant that people should carry an actual computer in their pockets, but it turned out that it was exactly what they needed.

– iPhone is an essential part of our customers' lives, and today more than ever it is redefining the way we communicate, entertain, work and live. iPhone set the standard for mobile computing in its first decade and we are just getting started. The best is yet to come – said current Apple CEO Tim Cook in his memorial post on the company's site.

This may be true, but, to many users, Jobs' presentation of the first iPhone remains the company's brightest moment.
