Special police being formed
The Decree, as they remind, was adopted two days before the New Year.
The auxiliary police will consist of persons not employed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for the purposes of performing police duties.
The auxiliary police carries guns, police uniforms and official authorization, which differs only in that it says “special police” instead of just “police”. The operations of the Special Police are regulated by two articles from the Law on Police of 2016.
The new decree provides the Minister of Internal Affairs with the highest authority, reports Insajder.net.
The minister is thereby authorized to hire auxiliary policemen without organizing a contest, and for them to be hired, it's enough that they are unemployed, between 18 and 50 years of age and to have at least completed four-year secondary education. The commission for the selection of the members of the auxiliary police is appointed by – the minister.
They are not required to operate in the areas they come from, but anywhere within the territory of Serbia.
