Elektromreza Srbije pays EUR 196 million to state budget in four years – Five million dinars for medical treatment of children abroad
Petrovic said that EMS had worked hard in the previous few years and that several important infrastructural projects had been realized, among them, he added, the construction of the Beograd 20 and Vranje 4 substations, as well as the beginning of the construction of the Trans-Balkan Corridor for the transfer of electricity.
– Five new transformers totaling 1,600 megavolt-amperes have been installed, which is a record in the company's history – Petrovic pointed out and reminded that the SEE Power Exchange had been founded and that EMS has expanded its operations in the region by purchasing shares in Elektroprenos Crne Gore.
He added the EMS had a great role in international organizations and that three EMS employees had earned EUR 1 million for Serbia by participating in international projects.
Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic pointed out that it was important that big infrastructural results had been achieved, but that the amount of money paid to the budget by EMS was even more important, and added that the company hadn't suffered because of it, but that it was “financially well and stable” instead.
Talking about the project of the Trans Balkan Corridor, Vucic quipped that the construction needed to be slowed down a bit, as Serbia earned more without it.
EMS donating RSD 5 million for medical treatment of children abroad
Elektromreza Srbije will donate RSD 5 million to the Budget Fund for Medical Treatment Abroad, and Petrovic pointed out that the company was providing a good example to others as well when it comes to social and humanitarian activities. Petrovic also stated that EMS had donated money to the said fund for two years in a row and added that he hoped that other companies would get motivated to provide help to those who needed it the most.
The Ministry of Health founded the Budget Fund in order to secure additional funds for treatment of conditions, injuries and rare, but curable diseases, which can't be successfully treated in Serbia and for which the National Health Insurance Fund is incapable of providing sufficient funds.
