Kromberg & Schubert official owner of land in Krusevac – Construction of EUR 26 million factory to begin in 2016

A contract on the disposal of building land without compensation was signed on Wednesday, December 14, by the mayor of Krusevac, Dragi Nestorovic, and the manager of Kromberg & Schubert, Tanja Miliskovic.

K&B thereby officially became the owner of the parcel at the Konjicki Klub location, with a total area of 62,140.74 m2. An industrial facility for the production of wire systems, cables and injection technology products for the car industry will be produced there.

The estimated market value of the land is slightly over EUR 3 million, as reported by the City of Krusevac website.

K&B has obliged to make an initial investment in capital assets in the amount of around EUR 26 million by the end of 2022 (around 29 million in total). A production facility with 21,000 m2 will be built and later extended by another 12,000 m2. The obligation entails the employment of around 2,500 workers in the first phase, with the number later to be increased to 4,000.

According to Nestorovic, the preparation works are in progress, and the construction is expected to begin by the end of 2016.

More than 2,000 candidates interested in being employed at the factory have applied at the National Employment Service in Krusevac so far. The selection will be carried out using the operating policy criteria, the need for certain job positions and required qualifications.
