Jobs for 200 textile workers in Srbobran – S&D Tekstil initiating production of overalls

A production hall in which around 200 textile workers should be employed in the next five years should open in Srbobran soon. The management of the company S&D Tekstil in Stara Pazova, which produces overalls, and the leadership of the municipality of Srbobran have agreed to open a facility in Srbobran and cooperate on raising a production hall, and the letter of intent has also been signed between the two partners.

The owner of S&D Tekstil, Slobodan Okulic, explains that the company intends to expand its production facilities and that Srbobran has been selected due to efforts of the local self-government toward securing good work conditions for the investor.

The head of the municipality of Srbobran, Nesko Cestic, pointed out that everybody was looking to attract foreign investors on a state level, and that Srbobran was oriented toward opening the door to entrepreneurs from Serbia.

– I believe that there are enough business people and companies locally, which would be willing to open a facility in Srbobran, with certain subsidies and preferences, which is what we’re offering at this moment. The arrival of S&D Tekstil is one such example and the municipality of Srbobran will take measures in order to facilitate the beginning of the production for them. If there’s need for it, we will provide help regarding the land, the infrastructure, or the subsidies for training workers – Cestic said.

He added that the employment of new workers meant a lot to Srbobran and that he was certain that the municipality had a lot of young people prepared to learn and work in the textile industry.

– The production of overalls in Srbobran could begin right away, in the premises of the Elan directorate, which are currently empty – said the member of the Municipal Council in charge of economy, Djordje Dzekov. This way, S&D Tekstil might lay down the foundation for future operations in Srbobran.

S&D Tekstil has already started looking for workers. A job ad has been placed for industrial sewing machine workers. Experience in this area is preferred, but not necessary. Applications can be submitted until December 23.
