The Japanese company Kansai has bought the Slovenian paint and coating factory Helios, which became ownership of the Austrian company Ring International several years ago. The Japanese bought Helios for EUR 572 million, including the debt in the net amount of EUR 230 million.

– The value of the capital is lower and amounts to around EUR 340 million – said the director of Helios, David Kubala, and added that the coating industry was characterized by numerous acquisitions and that companies in that area were getting increasingly large.

Kansai is currently one of the ten biggest players in the world coating industry and it intends to eventually take the first place.

President of Kansai Pain, Hiroshi Ishino, said that they had EUR 2.6 billion in income at the moment, as well as EUR 371 million in EBITDA and emphasized that Europe was a big opportunity for them, as well as that Helios was a very good company, especially under its new management in the previous few years.

Helios also operates in Serbia, through the Zvezda Helios factory in Gornji Milanovac.
