Mozzarella arriving to USA from Belgrade – Air Serbia transports record 575 tons of cargo in October 2016

In the five months from the first flight to New York, Air Serbia – Cargo has been transporting food made in Serbia, but also Italian mozzarella, clothes and machinery from Turkey and Romania, mail from Russia and Greece, as well as windshields from Croatia, to America.

The company made record breaking monthly results in October by transporting 575 tons of cargo, thereby exceeding its October 2015 results (394 tons of goods and mail) by 46%.

A large number of shipments sent from Southeast Europe to the USA contributed to this. General manager of Air Serbia, Dane Kondic, says that cargo transporters and agencies form Southeast Europe have had a great reaction to the regular flight to New York.

For now, Air Serbia has three flights a week from Belgrade to New York with Airbus A330 wide-body planes, which have a capacity of 11 tons of cargo per flight. In addition to regular lines to New York, the national airline also offers the service of road transport to 53 cities across the USA and Canada.
