Vip Mobile has mobile telephony license extended for another ten years

Vip Mobile had its mobile telephony license in Serbia extended for another ten years on November 29, and the director of RATEL, Vladica Tintor, handed over the decision extending all of Vip's rights an obligations acquired through the purchase of License no. 3, for public mobile telecommunications network and provision of services, to general managers of Telekom Austria Group, Alehandro Plater, and Vip, Dejan Turk.

– Having recognized the market potential, Telekom Austria Group bought the license for the third mobile operator in November 2006, for which it paid EUR 320,000,001. We are still the biggest greenfield investor in Serbia, as we have invested more than EUR 934 million so far – Alejandro Plater said and added that “the results made so far show that the company will continue to contribute tot he competitiveness and to raising the standards of the telecommunications market in Serbia in the next ten years”.

Vip Mobile initiated its commercial operations in June 2007 and now has more than 2.1 million clients.

In the three quarters of 2016, it had revenues of EUR 161 million, and it holds 22.4% of the Serbian market and employs more than 900 experts, the company reported.
