The Belgrade Land Development Public Agency placed an invitation to tender for laying down tram tracks on the Ada Bridge on Friday, November 25.

The new two-track tram railway will be 2,700 m long and contain connections to the existing tram network, and the project also envisions the reconstruction of around 1,000 m of the existing tram network.

As stated in the tender documentation, the railway will be built from Djordja Stanojevica Street in New Belgrade, across the existing bridge structures, to the intersection with the Banovo Brdo-Centar railway. It will further continue under the Ada Bridge, along the established route across the facilities, across the reconstructed structures and the Topcider River and Vojvoda Misica Blvd. The route will end with the reconstruction of the existing intersection of the Banovo Brdo-Centar and Rakovica railways into a three-way intersection including signaling. This way, tram transport will be available in all directions between New Belgrade, Rakovica, Banovo Brdo and the city's center.

Two stops are planned along the route – block 42 in New Belgrade and Radnicka interchange, right after the main span on the Ada Bridge.

It is planned for the construction of the tram railway to last no more than 420 days starting with the engagement of the contractor, and the bid submission deadline is January 9, 2017.
