The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia announced today that public debates on the draft law on electronic communications and the draft law on postal services have begun and that they will last until December 3.

The new law on e-services should provide conditions for an even development of e-communications throughout Serbia and the predictability of operators' activities.

Furthermore, new regulations will bring e-communications in Serbia in line with international standards, and they will also make universal services available to all services, while meeting the needs of specific social groups, such as the disabled, the elderly and other vulnerable groups.

The intention of the legislators is to stimulate competitiveness and cost-effectiveness in e-communications.
