The implementation of the first phase of the construction of Szentendre Road in Novi Sad, from Primorska Street to Velebitska Street, will start next year. The road long 1.4 kilometers will have four lanes, a bicycle lane and sidewalks.

The second phase, which is to be implemented in 2018, envisions the construction of a new bridge on the Danube-Tisa-Danube canal in the length of 200 meters and the construction of a new section of Szentendre Road from Velebitska Street to Zmajevac Road.

The project will be jointly realized by PE Roads of Serbia, the AP of Vojvodina and the City of Novi Sad, as agreed at the meeting between the president of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic and the director of PE Roads of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak.

The Province and the City will jointly realize numerous projects of vital importance to the citizens. In addition to Szentendre Blvd, the priorities include the Clinical Center of Vojvodina, Radio-Television of Vojvodina, Emergency Healthcare Institute, and the development of the Novi Sad University campus, for which the City of Novi Sad has already received grants from the Province through the tender placed by the Capital Investments Office of the AP of Vojvodina.

Further priorities within the program for state road maintenance on the territory of Vojvodina, especially in the directions from Indjija to Sremski Karlovci and from Banstol to Iriski Venac, were also defined. The Capital Investments Office will also take part in preparing and implementing these projects.

Joint investments in the recovery of roads in less developed municipalities in Banat were also discussed. The mutual stance is that the rehabilitation of the state road from Novi Sad to Zrenjanin should start as soon as possible, with all the necessary conditions already having been met.
