Bank of China to be headquartered in New Belgrade – Offices in line with banking giant's standards

Bank of China, as the fifth largest bank in the world and the oldest bank in China mainland, with over a century-long tradition, starts its operations process in Belgrade, Serbia. Being present in all continents with its network of subsidiaries, the bank operates in more than 40 countries, whereby the bank’s seat for CEE is situated in Hungary.

The bank will finance Chinese and Serbian companies making joint ventures in third markets, and the founder's plans are for all procedures and the registration to be completed by the end of 2016, so that the bank might start operating in early 2017. It is not known so far whether the bank will start working with retail clients immediately.

The leading real estate consultancy CBS International (CBRE Serbia) has, upon comprehensive office market analysis, offered expert support in identification of the adequate office space and realization of the lease acquisition, which is in line with the specific requirements of the new player in banking industry. Bank of China has chosen a prestigious corporate address for its seat in Imel’s building in Zorana Djindjica Boulevard.

CBRE Serbia, as the five-year leader in Serbian real estate market, has apart from the lease acquisition been engaged as the project manager, set to undertake a complete refurbishment of 1,200 sq m large new bank’s seat, in line with sophisticated criteria and business standards of this global banking leader.
