The Danish brewery To Øl (“two beers”) has presented its new product – powdered beer, which is, as they claim, always ready for consumption as soon as water is added to it.

The brewery's founders, Tobias Emil Jensen and Tore Gynther, say that, through the process of freezing and drying, the dry matter is extracted in a way that doesn't change the taste of beer. During the process, water and alcohol evaporate completely, leaving sugars, proteins, components giving beer its bitter taste and aromatic elements in the powder.

The characteristic taste of beer is there as soon as water is added to the powder, but in order to reach the full effect of the traditional drink, it's necessary to add alcohol to it.

The company says that powdered beer was made in order to enable the consumption of beer in situations where it's normally not available, like nature outings or airline trips.

Still, the future version, which will contain alcohol, might be blocked in many countries banning the sale of powdered alcohol.

To Øl was founded in 2010 and has since become famous for its unusual beers, such as the coffee-flavored beer or tropical fruit-flavored beer. The brewery's products, characteristic for its eye-catching packaging, are sold in over 40 countries.
