Alfa Plam Vranje building new facility in Surdulica – State announces support to family businesses
The owner of Alfa Plam, Miroljub Aleksic, said that the company was building a new 8.000 m2 facility in Surdulica with the Government of Serbia. The facility is to be raised in six months, and 215 workers will be employed there.
Prime Minister Vucic said that Alfa Plam kept increasing its capacities modestly and wisely and that the state wished to help them further expand their operations.
He said that Aleksic had thanked him for the government's efforts to develop good relations with Albania and pointed out that he hoped that the company's sales in that country would grow and that more workers would be employed.
Alfa Plam produces heating devices which run on pellets and fuel and their products are mostly meant for households. Miroljub Aleksic says that the company has invested more than EUR 30 million so far and that around 25,000 m2 of the new premises has been built.
– Alfa Plam is maybe the third biggest producer of heating devices in Europe and the world and number one in the production of wood burners – Aleksic says and adds that the company owns 18% of the German market.
He notes that Alfa Plam has a growth of 15-20% each year, both in the size of the company and the financial part, which proves that businessmen can be successful, too, if they stick to the world norms and organization and if their work discipline is high.
Aleksic said that Alfa Plam exported its products throughout the region, to Europe, and even to Chile, and that in four years 400 people have been employed in the factory in Vranje.
