Ericsson celebrates 20 years of innovations in Serbian market
The company implemented the first mobile network in Serbia in 1995, followed by the implementation of the first 2G/GSM network in 1996, the first 3G network in 2005 and the first managed services in 2013. In two decades in the dynamic Serbian market, the company, which is also celebrating its 140th birthday this year, has developed successful business relations with the local community in the institutional, telecommunications and technological sectors, and has created the foundation of the Networked Society in Serbia through various initiatives, they remind at Ericsson.
Antonio Passarella, the country manager of Ericsson for Serbia, emphasized the importance of the innovation-friendly local market.
– At Ericsson, we see Serbia as a country with great experts in the ICT industry, but also with a great position from which to adopt and dictate development trends in the region. It is precisely for that reason that this year's premiere of the CBiO solution took place in Serbia and why Serbia has been selected as the seat of our BSS Excellence center. We firmly believe in this market's potential for the implementation of modern solutions constantly developed by Ericsson, from the IoT to the cloud and 5G technologies.
Globally, Ericsson aims to build a Networked Society. In order to do so, the company uses the 5G technology in cooperation with numerous operators throughout the world, which enables companies to penetrate new markets and create new sources of revenue, in order to create new business and implementation models, the report says.
The company is also working on improving the cloud technology, which provides agility and efficiency in the practical application, as well as the IoT technology, which enables changes in communication thanks to a wide network of connections realized by the new possibilities arising from it. Ericsson's vision is the world in which sustainable development has been achieved and the company invests in industries outside the telecommunications sector, such as media, utility services and public transport, agriculture and environmental protection, the report adds.
