EIB loans for modernization of Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway and Nis-Pristina highway

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked today with the new head of the regional office for the Western Balkans of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Dubravka Negre, about financing the modernization of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway, the construction of the Nis-Merdare-Pristina highway and other projects in Serbia in the area of transport.

They discussed the EIB's loan for the modernization of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway, which will be financed partly by the bank, partly from grants and partly from the state budget of Serbia.

The cooperation on the construction of the Nis-Merdare section, whose preliminary design is expected for 2017, was also announced.

Mihajlovic notified Negre of the realization of all projects in the railway and road infrastructure financed by the EIB, about the dynamics of withdrawing approved loans and said that the government would be even more active in order to carry out the projects in line with the schedules.
