SVILANOVIC: Abolition of roaming charges in the region beneficial for business activities
He said that the RCC strove to make concrete contribution to two regional initiatives, the initiative related to roaming services and the initiative related to broadband infrastructure and services.
According to him, 55% of the most successful business people in Southeastern Europe believe that the abolition of roaming charges would benefit them in their business activities.
Svilanovic said that the RCC would work on the geographical expansion of the Regional Roaming Agreement and continue to support the regional approach in coordinating roaming policies and a more prominent integration of information and communications technologies in the connectivity agenda.
Roaming charges in the EU territory have been significantly lower since June 15, and will be abolished starting next year.
