EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition open

The audit and consulting company EY (Ernst & Young) has opened its fifth competition for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program, which will last until November 15, 2016.

The national winner will be officially declared in February, and the winner of the national competition in Serbia will again, together with the winners from countries throughout the world, compete for the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year award and attend the ceremony in Monte Carlo in June 2017. As in the previous year, the program is supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia and ProCredit Bank as a general sponsor, Radio Television of Serbia, the Biznis & Finansije magazine and the business portal eKapija.

EY Entrepreneur of the Year is organized in over 150 cities and nearly 60 countries throughout the world. It has existed for 30 years and it was established in Serbia in 2012. In the past four years, 89 companies from Serbia, employing more than 9,500 people and generating income of EUR 148 million, have taken part in the program.

– In the past four years that the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program has existed in Serbia, we've made sure of the excellence and the great potential of entrepreneurs from our country. What defines each of them are above all unending motivation, inventiveness and perseverance in accomplishing their ideas. Due to this, we wish to give an opportunity, through this program, to all inspirational entrepreneurs to show their talent and become recognized in their own country and establish themselves in the international entrepreneurial arena – stated Ivan Rakic, the managing partner of EY in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The winner of the program will be selected by an independent jury, and their decision will be based on key factors of success, such as entrepreneurial spirit, financial indicators, strategic orientation, presence in the regional or the international market, inventiveness and personal integrity.

– The EY Entrepreneur of the Year program is important because it will show us what the most successful enterprises in Serbia are at the moment and for the fact that, by presenting the best ones, we will once again stimulate other companies and entrepreneurs in the country to be even more successful. This selection and all the companies taking part in it confirm that it's possible to do business successfully in Serbia. Their remarkable examples could encourage many people in Serbia to try, to develop their entrepreneurial spirit, to see problems as challenges and realize their business ideas.
