Business Registry Agency (BRA) has obtained a donation worth 3.2m USD for improvement of business processes.

- The donation, which will include computer equipment and appropriate software, is intended for improvement of existing system of BRA through introduction of integrated registries, electronic archive and electronic networking of the government organs - said the CEO of BRA, Zvonko Obradović.

The funds will also be directed to the establishment of one stop shop, which will represent a basis for realization of electronic procedures between different government organs and, in that way, simplify the process and shorten the time the government administration spend serving citizens.

- The idea is that the whole procedure for starting business be shortened to five to seven days, and we expect that that procedure will be developed in phases - he pointed out.

According to his words, deadline for registration of entrepreneurs will be 24 hours starting today, business organizations will have 48 hours to register, and the agency will also start the process of decentralization by handing out decisions to the organizational units all around Serbia starting March.

Obradović added that today's donation of the Government of Korea includes appropriate softwares, as well as training for local expert teams, who will be visiting Korea and take eight-week training in use of up-to-date technology whose application will start this and next year.

One stop shop system will be put into operation this year. In case of starting of business, that means that the whole procedure related to issuing of license will be completed with one visit to BRA, without any need for visiting other government institutions.

The Ambassador of South Korea to Serbia, Kim Jung Hi, pointed out that the donation of South Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to BRA was the first Korean-Serbian project since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

She estimated that, after realization of the project, operations in Serbia would be much quicker, easier, more transparent and more efficient, not only for local companies, but also for foreign investors.

State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Jasna Matić, pointed out that the improvement of work of BRA would improve business climate in Serbia, as well as efficiency of domestic economy, which would contribute to growth of volume of foreign investments.
