Starting from September 2, business entities no longer need to submit data about their current accounts to the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA) in order to register.

Removing this step from the registration procedure was enabled thanks to the availability of electronic data from the Unified Register of Accounts of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).

The procedure pertains to all business entities, entrepreneurs and branches of foreign business entities whose data is registered at the SBRA, which were, until now, obliged to open a business account in a commercial bank and register it at the SBRA after being founded. The obligation also pertained to registering each change of the current account. The SBRA now automatically takes this data from the NBS and updates its website accordingly.

Electronic sharing of business data between the SBRA and the NBS has been established in line with the agreement on cooperation signed in 2013, which defines the access and mutual downloading of data from the databases run by several state authorities to the end of improving the citizen service and more efficient operations of the competent authorities. Downloading current account data is a continuation of this cooperation.
